Making Your Own Google Videos

How you would like to make your own homemade movies? If you would, how would you feel if you could easily share those videos with the rest of the world? Thanks to online video websites, you can. If you are interested in creating your own video, on just about whatever you want, and share it with other internet users you can, by using Google Video.

Google Video is one of the most popular online video websites, along with YouTube. Google Video is an online video website that is most commonly known for its wide selection of available videos. These videos commonly include popular television shows, sports recaps, celebrity interviews, music videos, and homemade movies. When most internet users arrive at Google Video’s main page, they are there to find online movies to watch. Google is the place that many internet users go because they can not only watch free videos, but they also buy popular videos, often for less than two dollars.

Although a large number of internet users visit Google Video to watch fun videos, not everyone does. A large number of individuals head to Google Video’s online website to look for more information on the features that allows them to make, upload, and share their own videos. If you are one of those individuals, you can easily learn more by visiting http://video.google.com/. That link should bring you directly to Google Video’s main page. Once at the main page, you will find information on how to make and upload your own homemade video.

One problem that you may notice with Google Video is that there are times when you cannot upload your videos, often due to site maintenance. This is something that is usually only temporary; therefore, you shouldn’t be alarmed if you are not able to load and share your own videos with other internet users. The best thing that you can do is what until the feature becomes available again. In the mean time, you may want to upload your movie to another online video website, such as YouTube. Although, it is important to note that Google Video is a great place to share your video with the rest of the world. For that reason, you may want to regularly check back to see if and when you can begin to upload your movie.

To upload a movie to Google Video, as well as most other online video websites, you will need to first make a movie. There are a number of different things that you can use to do this. Perhaps, the best recording device to use is a camcorder. Camcorders are great because you should be able to make a video just about anywhere you want and at any time. If you are unable to use a camcorder, you should also be able to use your webcam; however, you may be required to stay around your computer area. Many cell phones and digital cameras have video recording capabilities; however, the recordings tend to be short and without sound.

Whether you make the decision to use your cell phone, digital camera, webcam, or camcorder, you will need to load your video onto your computer. Once this is done, it is likely that it will be recognized by a moving making software program. Most computers come equipped with these software programs; therefore, should not have to install any new programs on your computer. If your video is fine the way that it is, you will want to save it. If you want to edit your video, you should be able to, depending on the type of moving making software program your computer has. When saving your movies, you should save them as one of the most common movie formats. These formats commonly include .MPG, .AVI, .MOV.

As previously mentioned, you will want to visit Google Video’s main webpage to learning more information about making, uploading and sharing your videos. You can do this by visiting http://video.google.com/.

Designing a Web Crawler Friendly Web Site

The most successful online businesses all have one thing in common. They all knew how to make search engine optimization work for them.

Search engine optimization is the art and science of making websites attractive to the internet's search engines. The first step in successfully achieving stellar search engine optimization is to lure search engine's web crawlers to your website. Web crawlers are computer programs that the search engines use gather data and index information from the websites. The information the web crawlers gather is used to determine the ranking of a webpage.

One of the fastest ways to hamper a web crawler is to construct a website that has frames. Most search engines have crawlers that can't penetrate the frames, if they can't get into a webpage to read it then that webpage remains unindexed and unranked. Two search engines, Google and Inktome, have web crawlers that are capable of penetrating frames. Before submitting your website to a search engine do some research and find out if they have a crawler that is incapable of penetrating any frames.

If you have written frames into your URL it will probably be worth your effort to go back and rewrite your URL's. Once you have rewritten your URLs you might be surprised to find that the new addresses are easier on humans as well as web crawlers, the frameless URLs are easier to type in documents as links and references.

Once you have rewritten your URL's it is time to start submitting your website to search engines. Some webmasters like to use an automated search engine submission service. If you decide to go with the submission service you should be aware that there will be a fee involved, the minimum fee is typically fifty-nine US dollars. This price should keep a few URLs on the search engines for a year. Other webmasters like to avoid big fees by submitting their website to individual search engine on their own.

Once your webpage is submitted to a search engine you need to sit down and design a crawler page. A crawler page is a webpage that contains nothing else expect links to every single page of your website, Use the title of each page as the as the link text. This will also give you some extra keywords that will help improve the ranking the crawlers assign to your website. Think of the crawler page as a site map to the rest of your website.

Typically, the crawler page won't appear in the search results. This happens because the page doesn't have enough text for the crawlers to give that individual page a high ranking, after all its nothing more then a portal to the rest of your site and your human users won't need to use it. Don't panic if it crawlers don't instantly appear to index your website. There are a lot of websites available on the internet that need to be crawled, indexed, and then ranked. It can sometimes take up to three months for a web crawler to get to yours.

Content Management- "Need to Create"

The creation phase of a media publication, whether in audio, visual, text or any other type of format, begins with a need to create. The recognition of this need is thought to be the beginning of the creative process.

In instances of author generated content the individual responsible for creating the content in its entirety, also has identified the need to create that content. In such circumstances the author approaches another member of the content management team (usually the editor or publisher) with the idea for the content. If the idea is well received then the author is given permission to undertake the creation of the content.

Another member of the content management team may also be responsible for identifying the need to create. An editor or publisher may identify the need for a certain type of media material. In this circumstance either the editor or publisher may contact the author to request the creation of the material necessary to meet the need.

Other possible sources of content generation may be generated from individuals outside of the previously mentioned roles. For example a translator may recognize an existing gap in current documents, and bring this need to the editor or the publishers attention. Likewise, an individual who has no association with the content management team may identify and express a need to author, editor or publisher.

How to Profit From a Blog

Blogs can be for profit or non-profit but most
bloggers blog for the purpose of making money. There
may be some contents published to simply provide an
outlet for voicing out the bloggers’ opinions and
share their thoughts. However, the general population
of bloggers has the intention of profiting
financially. Fortunately, there are several methods of
profiting from a blog and applying these methods can
help you gain money.

The Advertisements

Selling space for advertisers is one of the most
common ways to profit from a blog. Since blogs that
have a considerable amount of traffic can make income
with ad sales, make sure that you have a target
audience. The reason why bloggers choose to sell
advertising is that it is a passive form of income
once the traffic has progressed. Although it takes
work to look for advertisers and maintain the ads on
the blog, those who can achieve it can gain reasonable
amount of money with the ads.

Compared to other forms of profiting from a blog,
selling advertisement space can be one of the most
consistent revenue streams. If you are able to
maintain your ad slots filled, you should have a very
good idea of just how much you can make every month.

On the negative side, selling ads requires you to have
some kind of established traffic. Traffic is important
because it draws interest from potential advertisers.
You might find it hard to sell an ad space without
traffic and it will most likely not produce much
revenue. Additionally, the blog must have a target
audience in order to achieve the maximum amount of
cash for advertisement space. Remember that
advertisers are more likely to pay if your target
audience is a match to theirs.

Affiliate programs are also a major resource of
profits for several bloggers. Affiliate programs are
excellent in a sense that they enable you to have the
opportunity to make money even if your blog has a
small audience. However, one bad side to affiliate
programs is that there can be instances where you
cannot make any money at all.

Newly created blogs feature affiliate ads most of the
time compared to selling space directly to
advertisers. Since selling ads is hard to do without
much traffic, affiliate programs are perfect for new
blogs. More so, they can be easily maintained and only
take very little time.

Promoting and Premium Content

Bloggers who are service providers at the same time
have an excellent opportunity to look for clients and
increase their rates. Maintaining a blog that focuses
on your area of expertise can help you easily become a
recognized authority in your field. Additionally, it
can aid potential clients to find you. You can also
benefit from the increase in demand of your services
and improved reputation that you build, which enable
you to charge more for your services.

Aside from promoting your services, selling premium
contents are also excellent ways to profit from a
blog. Blogs are a massive source of information and
remember that not everything has to be free. There are
bloggers and business that attained success by selling
some of their work. There are blogs that sell
memberships on their Web sites. Although selling
premium content is possible in any field, you must
have the capability to give something to the reader
that is worth paying for.

Paying Taxes Is Just Part Of Business

(Paying Taxes Is Just Part Of Business)

Any business, whether online or not, really has to pay
its due taxes. Some people would resort to starting an
online business thinking that they can evade tax
payments if they do so but the truth is, the tax dues
will surely catch up with them one way or another.

Righteous as this may sound, but any business that
does not pay its taxes cannot be considered as a
business.

So, You Want To Start Your Online Business?

Trying to start an online business is pretty much the
same as starting any business in the world. Some
people who are involved with online businesses usually
use their ignorance as an excuse not to pay taxes.

They would say that they didn’t really know where to
go or what government department to approach so they
just went ahead with their online business without
actually referring to the government or the state that
they are under.

The first thing that you should do if you want to
start your online business is to go to your local town
hall and try to list down the requirements needed to
form a business in your location.

You should also ask what is required at both state and
federal levels. Most communities would actually
require you to register a trade name. If you wish or
choose to operate from your home, you should ask about
the local zoning laws.

Learn About The Sales Tax Requirements

Your online business will more or less fall under the
category of a mail order business (that is if you are
planning to sell stuffs online). You will need to
learn about the sales tax requirements that come along
with your online business so that you will not
encounter any problems in the future.

If for example you don’t have a nexus in another
state, you can still sell and ship your merchandise to
costumers residing in another state without actually
charging Sales Tax. However, sales to the residents in
the same state that you are living in will definitely
require a collection of Sales Tax and remittance to
the Sales Tax Department of your state.

Operate Your Business Honestly

If you want to have a successful online business, you
should try to keep it as clean and honest as possible.
Don’t even try to pull off any illegal or mischievous
tricks in your business or it may jeopardize your
success.

Make sure that you abide by the Truth in Advertising
requirements; do not give customers misleading ads
because they will only end up being disappointed or
unsatisfied with your services which could lead to
more trouble.

In a nutshell, trying to start and operate an online
business requires ample time, effort, honesty and
sincerity. It’s a sad fact that a lot of people use
the Internet for scamming others and earning money
illegally.

However, it does not mean that it should be a trend
that should be followed. It is greatly possible to
have an online business that is clean, honest and
legal. If you really want to pursue your online
business, the tips mentioned here will be truly of
help to you and if you still need more help and
assistance, a visit to a lawyer will surely be of
greater help.

Remember, taxes and your online business go hand in
hand for success.

How to create a great video product - writing your script

If you've been thinking about creating video products for sale on the Internet, you've probably been throwing around more ideas than you know what to do with. This is an easy trap to fall into. It's important to do some brainstorming for concepts initially, but always be sure to put a limit on your concept development stage. If you let it drag on, you'll never get anything done.

Set deadlines for yourself even when you think you don't have to. Don't fool yourself into thinking that you're making progress toward your goal when in fact you haven't gotten anything done.

The failure to focus on one project and carry it through to successful completion is a clear sign that you're procrastinating. If you get a brainstorm for creating a different video product every day, but you still haven't created a finished product to sell on the Internet, make up your mind to do something about it today.

Narrow your focus and set a day to shoot
Suppose your friends all say you're a natural comedian. You've been playing around with the idea of creating a comedy routine or skit. The only way to get it done is by setting priorities, sticking to a plan, and setting deadlines.

Set a day to shoot the video. You have to do this and stick to it. Approach this as if you were doing a project for hire. When you force yourself to get things done, you'll start to notice a big difference in the results you get. How much time you give yourself depends on how much time you can actually spend working on the project, of course. If you're doing this at night or on the weekends, you obviously need more time than a full-time Internet marketer who is planning a promotional video for a web site. Get up one hour earlier if that's the only way you can find time to do it. Approach it as a job for one month. Set your shoot for one month from today. Stop thinking about it and start writing a script.

People who get things done know that there is never a perfect time to start. People who wait for inspiration before they start a script never get started. As Jack London said, "You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club." You have to get something down on paper to trigger connections between ideas. My best ideas always come during the writing process-never in the "thinking about what to write" stage.

Experience has taught me to just start writing and get it all down on paper. When I have a first draft in front of me, I get inspired. I see all sorts of things I never would have seen without the stimulus of the thoughts that came seemingly out of nowhere as I was working on the first draft of my script.

So stop thinking about it and get a script on paper. Then revise, shoot it, and put it up for sale on the Internet. But get started today.

Should Your Join a Social Networking Website?

Are you interested in meeting new people online? If so, there is a good chance that you have heard of social networking websites before. Social networking websites are, in a way, like a community. They allow internet users to connect with and communicate with each other. Despite the fact that social networking website have rapidly increased in popularity and their popularity is only expected to keep on rising, there are many internet users who are unsure as to whether or not social networking websites are for them.

If you are interested in determining whether or not you should join an online networking website, you are encouraged to think about why those websites are so popular. Doing so will enable you to determine why other internet users make the decision to join an online social network. After that close examination, you may even find that those are the same reasons why you should or want to join. One of those reasons is the ability to easily meet other internet uses.

Before social networking websites, it was difficult to meet other internet users. If you tried, you would have to rely on chat rooms or instant messaging services. As nice as these popular internet features are, they are not always considered safe. With chat rooms or instant messaging programs you were often given little reassurance that a person was who they claimed to be. Without profiles, there was no way that you could learn more about a particular internet user, even if you wanted to. Social networking websites have changed that.

Not only have social networking websites made it safer to meet people online, it also allows you to meet people that have the same or similar interests as yourself. Most social networking websites allow you to create your own profile; in fact, many even give you your own webpage. These profiles or pages will allow you to share information on yourself, including your likes and dislikes. Since all other network members should have the same pages and profiles, it should be fairly easy for you to meet up with other internet users, especially those who enjoy or believe in the same things that you do.

Another one of the many reasons why you should join a social networking website is because you literally have a wide variety of different choices. As social networking websites increased in popularity, so did the number of websites that could be found online. Although MySpace is often deemed the most popular online social networking website, there are others that are just as easy or as much fun to use. You should easily be able to find those websites by performing a standard internet search.

In your search, for social networking websites, you will come across a number of different networks. Many of those sites will have a particular focus. Unlike MySpace, which accepts just about any internet user, there are online networks that aim to accept internet users that have a particular hobby, view, or belief. Online, it is not uncommon to find social networking websites that focus on politics, religion, pets, sports, and more. If you are unsure about joining an online networking community, specialty networking sites may be your best bet. They are a great way to test the waters and they are nice because they automatically pair you with internet users who have the same interests, views, or beliefs as you do.

Perhaps, the greatest reasons why should join a social networking website is because most are free to use. Popular free networks include Yahoo! 360, Orkut, and MySpace. In addition to free social networks, there are online networks in which you are required to pay to join. Although you may not want to pay for something that you can obtain for free elsewhere, you will find that most paid networks offer you more membership benefits, when compared to free social networking sites.

Due to the fact that most social networking websites are free to use or at least free to try, you are encouraged to give them a shot. If you are unsatisfied with what you see, you can easily cancel your membership, often at anytime.

Mobile Blogging is on the Cutting Edge

Mobile blogging is an exciting phenomenon that is
sweeping the blogosphere. One of the reasons why a lot
of bloggers are attracted to the medium of blogging in
the first place is that they enjoy being able to make
frequent updates and posts that keep all of their visitors
up to speed with current situations. Mobile blogs, or
"moblogs," take this to the extreme by allowing users to
post things literally as they happen. This new wave of
moblogs and mobloggers keep web surfers up to date
with good and bad events of importance as they occur
all over the world, helping to make international
communication faster and more accurate.

Many people feel that the limitations of blogging have a
lot to do with geography. After all, there is only so
current that a blog can be when you need to run home
and boot up in order to update it. However, mobile
blogging marks the beginning of an thrilling new era
when web-based communication can happen
spontaneously from any location. Moblogging devices
mean that there is almost nowhere on the planet that
remains off-limits for bloggers.

Mobile blogging is still in its infancy because the
technology that makes it possible has only recently hit
the global market. The first moblog technology became
available over a decade ago, but it is only the past two
or three years that mobile web devices have become
user-friendly enough to appeal to most consumers. As
camera phones and other mobile technology become
more popular, more and more bloggers are getting away
from their desks and are hitting the streets. Moblogging
is becoming much more widespread that it was even a
few months ago, and mobloggers are quickly attracting
a lot of attention with the blogging community. It is not
yet clear whether moblogs will become the dominant
kinds of blogs in the years to come, but the current
trend seems to imply that moblogs are here to stay.

Mobile devices make it possible to blog from the sites
where current events are unfolding, which is one of the
reasons why mobile blogging has so much thrilling
potential to revolutionize the blogosphere. A moblogger
with a camera phone can post blog entries from, say, the
foot of the podium at a presidential speech, or from the
stands during the final moments of the world series.
This enables bloggers to experience the same real time
thrills that live television coverage provides, but in a
more democratic medium. The combination of mobility
and individual control that moblogging provides
certainly places mobloggers on the cutting edge of
today's communications technology, and it is hard to
imagine that the number and prestige of moblogs will
not continue to grow in the coming years.

How Blog Carnivals Can Drive Traffic to a Website

Ever since the birth of the World Wide Web, people are always finding ways to effectively drive traffic to their precious websites. Webmasters are always on the lookout for the freshest concept in driving this traffic to their sites. Who wouldn't, this traffic spells big bucks to many or a chance for somebody to be popular in his or her chosen field (although, the former reason is more likely). One of the proven ways to effectively drive traffic to a website is through a blog carnival.

What is a blog carnival? It is a type of event in the blogosphere world, very much like a magazine, wherein it publishes specific blog topics regularly, sometimes on a weekly or on a monthly basis, depending on the blog carnival organizer or host. Each blog carnival issue is like a blog article which includes permalinks links of other blog articles for that specific topic.

There are a lot of blog carnival versions, but usually, someone who wishes to orchestrate a carnival should post all the info on the topic or theme to their blog, and invite readers to tender related articles to be included in an upcoming blog carnival issue. The blog carnival organizer/host then gathers the links of the tendered articles, edits and glosses them in a creative way, then publishes the compilation to their blog.

A lot of carnival blogs have their own home page or primary organizer, they are the ones who line up invited bloggers to host each issue. It means the carnival goes and appears on many blog sites every time.

Blog issue hosts, writers, and readers in an online community form within specific carnivals. The carnivals give a collection of most recent blog posts within the online community on a specific topic, and then the issue host gives a certain level of glossing and editing that aids readers to hit upon the posts that interest them. The writers who tendered their articles for the blog carnivals are then recognized and rewarded with the much needed traffic to their websites, wherein the issue host gives them a link or a positive review.

The moment you start out in the blogosphere world, you should really consider joining these blog carnivals, because it will help you jumpstart your career in blogging. Carnival blogs, by far, are the easiest way to get traffic and links for free. Remember also that in the process of tendering articles, you should only tender to carnival blogs that have a theme or topic that is related to your articles.

Carnival blogs are comparable to an audition, they give you the opportunity to showcase what you are truly made of, aside from the fact that it is easy and it drives traffic. That is what we all want, right?

How to Go About Finding Online Video Websites

When it comes to entertainment, there are many individuals who turn to the television. Turning on your television is a great way to watch the news, watch your favorite television show, or even watch a movie. While many individuals still enjoy getting entrainment from their television, there are many more who are making the switch to the internet. That is thanks, largely in part, to online video websites.

Online video websites are defined as websites that allow you to view online videos. Depending on the video site in question, you should also be able to make your own video and upload it to the website. If and when you upload your homemade video to an online video website, you should be able to share your video with other internet users. Although many online video websites specialize in offering homemade videos, made by internet users just like your, there are others who have made deals with particular television and music executives. This means that, depending on the online video website in question, you should be able to watch the latest music videos or your favorite television shows, all online.

If you have yet to see what all the buzz is about, but you want to, you will need to find an online video website. There are a fairly large number of online video websites. Many of these websites post a wide variety of different video types, while others focus on a particular topic and issue. Whichever type of online video website you are looking for, you should be able to find it with a standard internet search. You will want to perform a search with the words online video websites. That search phrase should produce a number of different results, including Google Video and YouTube.

In addition to performing a standard internet search, you should also be able to famialrize yourself with online video websites by speaking to those that you know. These types of websites are used by a large number of individuals, from all different age groups. This means that whether you are a teenager, a college student, or an adult, you should know of at least one individual who is familiar with online video websites. If that individual has made their own online movies or viewed other movies online, they should be able to point you in the direction of a well known and popular video website.

Although there is a good chance that you will know someone who has used an online video website before, whether it was to view videos or upload their own, there is also a chance that you may not. If this is the case, you can not only use the internet to find online video websites, by performing a standard internet search, but should also be able to use the internet to learn what other internet users are saying about popular video websites. Whether you perform an internet search or just visit a number of different online message boards, you should find a websites or message forums that are discussing online video websites. If one of those websites comes highly recommended, you may want to think about checking it out.

Of course, you do not have to take the recommendations of others into consideration, but it may be a good idea, especially with online video website that charges you to use their services, such as uploading your video. With free online video websites, you should be able to experiment all on your own, if you choose to do so. Most online video websites will allow you to remove your video after you have requested to do so. Essentially, this means that if you are not satisfied with a particular online video website, you could easily remove your video and upload it somewhere else. That is why is nice about using online video websites, in most cases, you are free to do whatever you want or wish to do.

Controversy Lends a Helping Hand to Search Engine Optimization

It is always wonderful to hear good news. Hearing good news makes us feel good about ourselves, the people around, our dog... heck the world is a better place when we have good news.

Good news might make us feel good about ourselves and the world but there is something deliciously appealing about bad news, especially if it is about someone other then ourselves.

Bad news makes good news copy. Celebrities know that. I once watched an interview with a well known, highly controversial, singer/songwriter, and performer. The newspapers are always full of articles and stories about his exploits (he and I share the same home state so I think the papers I read have probably double what papers in the rest of the country print). The interviewer asked this singer about one of his recent escapades. The singer kind of chuckled and shyly admitted that while the episode had happened it had been blown out of proportion. When the interviewer asked why the singer did nothing to correct the allegations the singer bluntly replied...money. Each time someone accused him of doing something awful kids started to rush to the stores to buy his CD's, partly because his name was being splashed all over the airwaves and was fresh in their minds when the perused the music department, but also partly because their parents were trying to ban his music from the house. When he was on his best behavior he didn't get any media attention and his record sales plummeted. So, since the singer is anything but stupid and he has a deep appreciation for the things money can buy, he goes a little bit out of his way to perpetuate his bad boy image.

Bloggers are another group of people who understand how swiftly controversy spreads. They know that if they write about something that is controversial there will be a flood of readers reading their bogs and leaving feed back. Before you know it a dialogue has started, sometimes it isn't a peaceful dialogue but it's a dialogue just the same.

The same thing can be true about websites and search engine optimization. Search engine optimization is the art and science of making a web site appealing to search engines. Search engines determine the attractiveness of a website by sending out web crawlers that look for algorithms placed throughout the website. The more algorithms a website has the higher it gets ranked during a search.

A second thing several search engines look for is something called link analysis. Web crawlers look for how many links lead back to the website. The more links leading back to a website the higher that website will rank.

Controversy is a way to get a lot of links to your website fast. For example a breeder of Ball-headed pythons went to an exotic pet show to purchase some more snakes for his store. While he was at the show the police stormed the pet show, using excessive force to remove several of the exhibitors. You snapped several graphic pictures of the event, photos you later post on your website where you sell the snakes you breed. Others see the controversial photos posted on your site, they tell their friends and customers. Content Management- Editing/Updating

Following the creation phase of the content management process, the content will need to be edited before entering the publication phase.

The process of editing material for publication consists of an overall review of the content, in an effort to assure that the finished product meets certain quality assurance standards. Each individual or company has its own specific standards in place for assuring the quality and accuracy of the content that it publishes.

In the case of text documents the editor will generally look for spelling, grammar and structural errors in the submitted work. An editor will also check factual information for accuracy. Additionally, the text as whole is reviewed for clarity, continuity and its ability to sustain reader interest. A first draft of material written for publication is usually returned to the author for revisions. In cases where such revisions are needed, the editor makes detailed notes on the original document, or separately outlines specific requests for changes to the material.

In this phase of updating it is the authors responsibility to perform the necessary revisions, prior to the materials publication. Once the revisions have been made, a second draft of the work is then produced and returned to the editor. The editor then reviews the second draft for quality assurance purposes.

The amount of times a text document is edited and revised will vary, depending on the overall ability of the author to meet the editors standards for publication, as well as the editors ability to communicate those standards to the Author.

International Business Blunders

When you are determined to pursue economic relations in the global market, there are a lot of seemingly unnoticeable details that need to be looked into. Cultures and traditions of different nations have to be greatly considered in order to avoid any international business blunders. It may not just be embarrassing on your end, worst is that it might be the cause of failure.

The reason behind it is that, there is lack of familiarity with the practices, customs and etiquette. Yes, there is a huge disparity because you come from both corners of the world but an initial step of any effort to discovery will always lead to success. Here are some tips to do away with those international business blunders.

Shake Hands or Bow Down?
In Japan, a slight stoop signifies respect and humility, such is very important to observe when having appointments with the Japanese. However, there are different levels that have its corresponding meaning. Shaking of hands are acceptable in Italy especially when saying bonjour or bidding ciao. In the United States, the males do not get on their feet when a female enters or leaves a room. They do not even kiss a woman’s hand because it is reserved for royalty. In Thailand, the conventional manner of welcoming a person is by placing both hands together in a prayer position at the chin and bending over in a certain angle. The higher the hands, more elevated regard is shown. Fingertips should not be raised above the eye level. Aside from “hello”, it means “thank you” and “I’m sorry”. This is one of the international business blunders that is equivalent to refusing a hand shake in the Western coast.

Gift or Bribe?
Exchanging presents connotes the depth and strength of a commerce relationship with the Japanese. It is usually given at the first meeting. When having to receive something from them, it is also expected to share in return. In Germany, it is rarely done. Small finds are already appreciated but expensive ones are not a generally observed. However, it is not one of the international business blunders as compared to other countries.

Proper Gesture
The infamous “OK” sign that originated in the United States means good but it has several definitions in other places. In Brazil, it is a symbol for money carrying with it a vulgar connotation while it suggests zero in France. In the English county, one of the international business blunders is to sit with the ankle resting on the knee. Instead, the legs should be crossed with one knee on top of the other. Patting at the shoulder and putting an arm around the new acquaintance is also a no- no. In Thailand, it is offensive when an arm is placed over the back of the chair when a person is sitting. In Ethiopia, holding out the palm and repeatedly closing the hand indicates “come here”.

Name Calling
Using titles before the first name such as Mister or Madam is highly suggested in France, United Kingdom and Denmark. In Germany, first names are seldom applied. In Thailand, they address each other through first names and reserve the surnames in very formal events. In Belgium, communicating with French- speaking individuals should be as “Monsieur” or “Madame” while the Dutch are either “Mister” or “Miss”. Having the two mixed up is one of the international business blunders that can be a great insult for them.

How to Plan Your Blog

The basics of blogging cover all the basic essentials,
including your writing style, blog category and the
content of your blog. Planning your blog can be
difficult if you do not know what you want to talk
about. It could be extra hard if you do not have the
necessary background in blogging. However, knowing
what you want to blog about can easily come to you
once you start browsing and poking around other blogs.
You can pick ideas from those blogs, expound and make
them the basis of your blog.

The Blogging Categories

Generally, there are several types of blogs.
Nevertheless, there are three popular categories of
blogs, such as: the organizational, business and
personal blogs.

The first category, the organization, uses the power
of blogs to communicate either externally with the
public or internally within their organizations. This
kind of blog has the purpose of facilitation internal
communications amongst employees, colleagues and other
organizational personnel. In addition, organizational
blogs normally publish information that is of interest
by the public. In a certain instance, there are
organizational blogs that publish seminar schedules,
meetings, and announcements for their clients,
customers or members.

The business blogs, on the other hand, are for
promoting services or products offered by businesses
in order to help increase profits, revenue and
interest of potential consumers. These kinds of blogs
can look for ways to increase their reputation and
authority with vendors, customers and partners. They
do this by publishing contents that express expertise
and knowledge within a specific market portion, niche
or industry.

The personal blogs are those that contain contents
that are more of a reflection of bloggers’ opinions
and thoughts. Normally, they are used to publish
articles that voice their points of view on several
kinds and varieties of events and topics. Bloggers who
publish personal contents usually find pleasure in
documenting their everyday lives, stream of
consciousness and even their hate to specific events
through articles that reflects their moods.

The Target Audience

Your target audience and blogging style comes hand in
hand. The moment you think of creating your own blog,
you must first realize what your target audience is;
you must know what they want, need and desire to read
about. The blog you create and the contents you
publish must provide quality and value to the readers
in order to be effective in establishing communication
and expanding readership.

More so, the kind of blog you want to create
essentially creates its own target audience. For
instance, an organizational blog is meant for those
who are members or clients of a certain organization.
Although the target audience may be limited, there is
a good chance for consistency with regards to the
dialogue you create with your readers and eventually
more people would be interested in your blog.

The mentioned personal blogs are not normally designed
for social dialogue with a certain target readership
of any category and is rather meant to serve as a
collection of your musings. These kinds of blogs are
best reserved to your close friends and they are your
target audience.

If you identify your target audience successfully,
your messages that you want everyone to know about
will be effectively targeted. Some of the greatest
joys of blogging come from the use of your enthusiasm
in publishing signification information for a
community where there is a free exchange of opinions
between the readers and you.

Paying Online Sales Tax Doesn’t Have To Be Taxing

Almost all tax payers would say that the process of
paying taxes is one of the most tedious and less-liked
activities that they can imagine and paying sales tax
for an online business is not exempted from the common
misconception.

When the issue pertaining to taxes and your online
business arise, you usually take it negatively which
would in turn end up in a negative note.

However, if you decide to change the way you think and
turn your negative approach to a positive one, then
you would surely realize that paying online sales tax
is not a taxing job at all.

Online business owners or e-tailers are commonly
complaining about online sales tax primarily because
they don’t clearly understand and grasp the meaning,
scope and limitations of the law and regulation that
pertains to it.

If you want your online business to boom and prosper,
you should have the initiative to gain as much
knowledge as you can about taxes and online
businesses.

Be Aware Of Taxability And Exemptions

You should be aware that not all services or products
are taxable or taxed in the same way as other services
and products are.

Furthermore, the taxability of some products also
differ from state to state. There are also exemptions
based on how the product is used as well as who uses
them.

An example to this would be schools and non-profit
organizations - these kinds of institutions may not be
required to pay sales tax if they avail any of your
products or services.

Take note that exemptions require clear and concise
documentation.

Consider State Sourcing Rules and Validate Addresses

There are more or less 12,500 tax regions in the
United States and for you to come up with an accurate
sales tax calculation, you have to identify and
validate the “roof top address” and then apply it to
the exact set of sales tax rates of that certain
transaction.

You must remember that the rate of the sales tax
applied to a sale or purchase may be made up of a
country sales tax, a state sales tax, a city sales tax
and other special taxing jurisdictions.

The so-called “roof top address” is very important is
because it serves as a warning that one household in a
neighbourhood can have a different sales tax rate that
its neighbour, if it is located physically in a
different zone already.

Use Tax

Consumer use tax or use tax is a kind of tax that
pertains to the using, consuming, storing and
sometimes distribution of personal tangible property.

Aside from that, it can also be applied to services
which are taxable. For short, you will need to pay use
tax in a state where that “usage” occurs.

A clear example for this would be: you bought a pair
of shoes over the Internet and you did not pay any tax
to the seller.

However, you used those pair of shoes in your state,
so you are subject to pay your state the use tax.

As an online business merchant, the above mentioned
tips and guidelines are just few of the other tips and
guidelines that you need to learn.

Taxes and your online business should work together,
if you want you business to become successful.

How to choose a production company for your video product

The tools for creating a video product are so inexpensive today that anyone can be a producer and broadcaster. If you're serious about producing videos to generate additional revenue streams for your Internet business, or if you're planning to launch an Internet site dedicated to the sale of video products, you need to learn how to do as much of the work as you can. Video production can be very rewarding and enjoyable work. On the other hand, if you have decided to outsource the development and production of your video product, there are many production companies online and in your area with talented and experienced personnel.

I have successfully completed several video products with production companies. Working with industry professionals has been a wonderful learning experience for me, and I have found that people who work on your projects are happy to teach you what they know. To quote a price for your video product, the production company will need to know the following:

* What is the target audience?
* Do you need to use on-camera actors or will you record voice overs?
* Will you write your own script, or will you outsource it to the production company?
* How many locations will you have?
* What is the length of the video?
* Do you need animations or graphics added to your video product?

The production company will provide the crew for your video. The crew for a simple video will include a producer, camera operator, and a sound technician. For small projects the producer will double as director, and for the simplest projects a one-man company can take care of all the aspects of creating and producing your video product. If you plan to create a more sophisticated video with on-camera talent, you will need a production assistant, lighting directors, make-up artists, and possibly other technicians.

Make sure that the production company can complete the entire production project; your video will cost more if you hire one company to produce it and another company to edit it. As with any outsourced project, you will want to get quotes from several different companies. It's important to do the planning before you talk to the production company-they can't give you a quote without a clear idea of the scope of the project.

Here are the questions you should ask production companies:

* What type of productions do you specialize in?
* Do you have experience in the type of product I'm planning to create?
* What will I need to contribute to the project?

The production company may need to schedule and coordinate different phases of the project with you or someone else from your company. Share your vision with the production company when you talk to them the first time. Good producers are experts in the technical aspects of production, but great producers are also passionate about the projects they work on. When you find a production company that can get excited about the vision for your video project, you need look no further.
